Don’t forget, this Friday, September 18th at 5.15pm on BBC2 watch The Hairy Bikers indulge in their taste for wholesome good food and cockle picking with Colin Macdonald of Parsons Pickles on Laugharne beach.

In this show, Si King & Dave Myers explore Carmarthenshire where they cook a traditional county favourite in the National Botanic Garden of Wales. They go cockling at Laugharne and source cheese from a happy herd of goats. Finally, they face the challenge of a cook-off against top chefs, Sue Manson & Maryann Wright. Restaurant diners decide who has created the best taste of Carmarthenshire.

Hairy Bikers get Cockled!

The Hairy Bikers, Dave Myers and Si King, indulged their taste for wholesome good food cockle picking on Laugharne beach last weekend (9 May 2009) as they filmed some scenes for their next series on BBC.

Parson Pickles played host to the BBC’s Hairy Bikers at Laugharne in Carmarthenshire as the two motorbike riding food enthusiasts got down and dirty to pick some of award winning cockles and learned all about Laverbread. (more…)

Leslie A Parsons & Sons Ltd won the Contribution to Sustainable Development (C2SD) award at this year’s True Taste Awards.

True Taste Wales Food and Drink Awards launched a ‘Contribution to sustainable development’ (C2SD) award in 2007. Recognising the challenges faced by industry the True Taste commissioned Ecodesign Centre Wales to develop this first-of-a-kind award. (more…)
